Privacy

The short version

We ask for what a courier needs to hand you a parcel, and nothing else. There are no accounts on this site, so there is no profile of you anywhere in it.

What we collect, and why

When you order. Your name, phone number, delivery address, and optionally your email and a note. The phone number is for the courier. The email, if you give one, is for your receipt.

When you join the email list. Your email address, and the code we issued you. Nothing else.

When you use the loyalty card. A random identifier stored in your own browser, and your email if you choose to give one. It is not linked to your name or your address, and it is generated on your device rather than assigned by us.

Automatically. The ordinary technical records any website keeps: which pages were requested and roughly when. We store a one-way hash of the network address an order came from, so a flood of fake orders can be stopped. It cannot be turned back into an address.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.
• We do not ask for, receive or store card or bank details. Orders are cash on delivery, so there is nothing of that kind to lose.
• We do not email you unless you asked us to, or it is about an order you placed.

Who else sees it

Only the people and services needed to get an order to you: the courier who delivers it, Google (which hosts the spreadsheet the shop runs on and the servers this site runs on), and Zoho, which sends the email. Each of them sees only what they need to do that job.

Your choices

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.

To see what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email byspreads@gmail.com. We will do it, and we will tell you when it is done. Orders we are legally required to keep as business records are the one exception, and those we can anonymise rather than delete.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. What it does keep is stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere: your basket, your delivery details so you do not retype them, your loyalty identifier, and a note of whether you have dismissed the newsletter box. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
